NYSEG/RG&E Public Hearings for Proposed Rate Increases

In May 2019, New York State Electric & Gas Corporation (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation (RG&E) requested that the New York State Public Service Commission approve proposed increases in their electric and gas rates to take effect in April 2020.

Please see the link below for details.

NYSEG-RGE Proposed Rate Increase

Gutter removal has started on the west side of Florendin Drive. Marked gutters will be removed and replaced with temporary stone beds and ramps for driveways. Concrete will be poured approximately August 19th and residents will be asked to park on side streets or across from their houses on neighboring yards. Vehicles must be off the road completely to allow traffic flow. The Highway Department will repair any lawn damage that occurs from this process. Once the west side is poured and restored the Highway Department will start on the east side of Florendin. Following the installation of new gutters, milling and paving of Florendin will begin. Reconstruction activities will not take place on side streets in this area.

Wild Tinker

Recent heavy rains have further deteriorated the Castle Road culvert over Allen’s Creek, located between Shady Creek Road and Running Creek Circle. As we have already started the process of replacing this culvert, and based on the observed condition of the culvert by our drainage personnel, we have decided to exercise caution and close the culvert and thus the road above it. We will explore whether it can be temporarily repaired and safely reopened prior to the start of the actual culvert replacement work. But if we determine there is no safe way to do this, it will remain closed until the replacement culvert is fully installed and ready to open

Castle Road will be closed to all through traffic and will be open for local traffic only, including the side streets that feed off of it, east of Commons Way and west of Pinnacle. The detour will be around Calkins Road as none of the side streets south of Castle Road can support the heavier traffic that routinely goes down Castle Road. We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause but felt that the safety of our residents was paramount.

The Crossroads of Monroe County

When Henrietta officially became a town in 1818, it also became the crossroad of Monroe County. The pioneers settled here on the various crossroads of the town and agriculture became their prominent occupation. Not only is Henrietta the geographical center of the county, it has also become the apex for business and commerce, culture and history. The history of Henrietta began with the sale of land that is known as the Phelps and Gorham Purchase This purchase opened up western New York State for development after the Revolutionary War. It included over a million acres starting north from Lake Ontario and south to the Pennsylvania border; east from Geneva and west to the Genesee river.
